Chapter 5
by Korrin
how should Theron respond?
Theron tell Kass how he feels.
"I wouldn't lie about something like this," Theron sighed, "I told you, you were my... You were my best friend," he said earnestly, trying to convey how serious he was with his voice.
Kass just shrugged. "You thought I was dead?" he asked.
"Yes," Theron said, a little irritated at having to repeat what he'd already said many times.
"One would have thought you'd moved on by now," Kass said indifferently.
Theron was hurt by Kass' apparent lack of caring, but tried not to let it show. "I've dedicated my life to trying to avenge your ****. The Black Dragon killed... my parents, and I thought he had killed you. I've spent my whole life getting ready for the moment when I could return the favour."
Theron watched apprehensively as Kass' face turned in to a scowl. His eyes appeared to darken and he looked away from Theron, gritting his teeth as he spoke, "How stupid," he said bluntly, "Wasting your life over a simple friend."
Theron was getting pissed, but ground his words out through clenched teeth, trying not to make a scene.
"You weren't a simple friend..." He paused, wondering himself, where he was going with this, "I... "
"You what?" Kass asked indifferently.
"I loved you!" Theron ground out, surprising himself. He could tell by the stunned look on Kass' face that he'd surprised him as well.
'Good,' thought Theron. He hated seeing Alexander, who'd been all smiles and expressive faces, as Kass, who seemed nothing more than indifferant and uncaring.
But he'd dropped a bomb even he himself wasn't prepared to deal with.
And... 'I loved you'... He had loved Alexander, he realized startlingly.
Did he love Kass?
Does Theron stay pissed at Kass, or try to sort things out?
