Theron responds without reveiling his feelings.

Theron sighed. He shouldn't have pushed Kass so quickly, just after he'd relunctantly agreed to stay with Theron. He didn't want to make him push away.

"I don't know," Theron shrugged heavily, "How would I benafit from lying to you about this?"

"I don't know. You tell me," Kass said defensivly.

Theron was getting frustrated, "It's not like there's a bounty on your head, is there?"

"No," Kass lied casually.

"Well then I can't get rich by turning you in, and if I'd wanted to sell you on the **** market, I would have just knocked you out in the alley. Aside from getting a friend back, how else could I benafit from this?"

"I don't know..." Kass said, examning the dirty table, unwilling to look Theron in the eyes.

Theron sighed again, "I just... I just want you to trust me."

"Fine," Kass said, as he stood up and pushed away from the table."

"What?" Theron asked, "Where are you going?"

"I said I'll trust you... for a while. And I'm going to bed. It's getting late."

"Huh?" Theron was confused, "The sun's barely past the mountains."

"I go to sleep early," Kass shrugged.

"But!" Theron stood up as well. "How do I know you won't just--"

Kass cut him off, "Won't just what? Leave in the middle of the night?" He paused, "I said I'll trust you. Now trust me. I said I'd travel with you for a while, and I will..." Kass paused to let his last statment sink in, "What inn are you staying at? I'll meet you there in the morning."

It took Theron a moment to respond, "Uh, the mercenaries and I are staying at The Stag Inn."

"A mercenary, huh?" Kass sneered.

Theron couldn't quite tell, because Kass was facing away, but it seemed like he had said that as an insult.
"You should stay with us at The Stag," Theron offered.

"Thanks, but no. Don't ask, I'm just sleeping elsewhere. Trust that I'll see you in the morning."

Theron barely had time to respond, "Ok..." before Kass had walked off and out the tavern.

Theron wasn't really sure how that went. He was worried about pushing Kass away, but he just wanted to help him.
Somehow Kass had evaded all his previous questions. He didn't know anything about this new person who called himself Kass. He was totally different from Alexander, but still, he felt that he trusted him, just like Kass had asked him to.

Theron wasn't really sure what to do. Now that he thought about it, he did feel rather drained. Perhaps he should just head back to The Stag.
He was curious where Kass went, and why he was so insistant on going there alone, but he had a feeling Kass would be pissed if he tried to follow him.
