There's a Hitch.

Xander tried to figure out his road to why he was sitting in the Mayor's office.

He had tested his control over the Sunndydale Effect, or SDE, on the patron's of Willy's Bar. Demons, vamps and humans all did what he said. In that cause, raise their arms in the air like the just don't care.

'Then it was just a quick march to City Hall and commanding everyone inside to not let me come to harm whether intentional or by accident. Then commanding them to be as helpful as possible, happy to help I said. Everything was going great, till the trouble came up.' Xander thought.

"So as you can see, I can't be harmed or die from anything for a hundred days before my Ascension, Well ninty days now. Afterwards I should be quite mortal. Was planning for your high school graduation." answered the Mayor as he pointed out the flaw, as Faith who had turned to the dark and become the Mayor's help stood next to him. Not a threat, acting as happily helpful as possible.

Xander had tested, the Mayor was under SDE, but it seemed it was not harming him in the definition of the spell which seems to be focused on the physical. The problem was if Xander had given back the power as planned, the Mayor would be free to continue with his evil plans as nobody mentioned if the effects of his orders lasted long term.

'So either give the power back and ruin the plan, test to see if the commands continue after the power is gone... or keep the power till graduation and risk corruption to some degree. Which is the Hitch. So what is worse, me with mind control powers or the Mayor as a major demon? The lesser of two evils. Lucky I can persuade the gang to accept it.

'In the meantime...', thought the young man as he continued.

"Mister Mayor, I need you to sign all of your goods and wealth into accounts for me. Anything valuable or important, then forget you did so. Then prepare to help Buffy and the rest of us kill you when you loose your immortality. Also anything you can do to help us fight evil, please do it.

"Faith, from now on you work for me. I own you mind, body and soul. You exist to make me happy, make my life better and to help me as well as protect me.

"Understand, you two?"

"Yes, young man." "Yes, boss."

Xander left with Faith following him, as he tried to figure out what he was going to do next.
