The transmission failed.

"Who, Admiral? Who did you find?!" Liara felt the anxiety rising within her breast. She struggled to contain her rising voice. A quick glance around the room told her her friends were just as **** to hear what came next.

"We found-" Suddenly, the holoscreen, which up until now had displayed a fuzzy image of Admiral Hackett, went blank.

"Damn it!" Liara worked furiously on the system but couldn't reconnect. Her hands shaking ever so slightly, she looked at Lieutenant-Commander Williams, who put a brave face on her own sadness and ordered everyone to return to their stations.

Getting the Normandy spaceworthy and off the uncharted planet it had been wrecked on was their task. The communication from Earth gave everyone on board a renewed zeal, Liara and Joker most of all.
