‟Hey wanna dance?”
Monique stared at him. ‟Excuse me?”
‟Dance. You know. We're at a dance and–‟
‟Have we met?”
‟Hey, you know me, right? Brick Flagg, captain and quarterback of the football team. Everybody knows me.”
‟Well, yes, I know who you are but-”
‟And you're some friend of Kim, right? She used to date me.”
That was not the way Kim told it. But Monique hadn't come with a date, and Brick was tall and handsome. ‟My name is Monique.”
