“Hold it right there, girls!” booms a loud voice. It’s the school security guard!
“Uhmm, hi Mrs. Wallace,” says Sabrina. “Is everything alright...?”
“Young lady, what did you just do in the cafeteria?”
Sabrina smile turns to a pale, blank expression. “Shit... I’m busted!”
“Uhhh, I don’t know what you’re talking about, Mrs. Wallace! I didn’t take- I mean, I didn’t do anything!”
“It’s true! She was here the whole time!” defends Rebecca. “She got here early and came straight here.”
“She’s right, Mrs. Wallace! I wasn’t even in the cafeteria toda-“
“Don’t try and wiggle your way out of this, Sabrina!” shouts Mrs. Wallace. “I saw you shove it into your backpack in the cafeteria!”
“B-but nobody was even in there!” Sabrina says.
“You know, it’s best if she stops self-incriminating herself,” whispers Veronica to Rebecca. “She’s fucked now.”
“Sabrina, I saw you through the cafeteria windows. You took it and walked out.”
“Well... nobody was there!”
“And you couldn’t have just waited for Mrs. Daniels to show up?” questions Wallace. “She was using the restroom.”
Defeated, Sabrina pulls the juice out of her bag and gives it to Mrs. Wallace. “W-well, sorry... here’s the juice...”
Mrs. Wallace smirks. “I’ll be taking that.” She grabs the juice from Sabrina and sets it aside. “Now, Sabrina, there is something else I need to discuss with you.”
Sabrina gulps. “Uhmm... okay?”
“Well,” says Mrs. Wallace, “the cafeteria lady and I noticed there was money missing from the tills. Seeing as you were the only one in the cafeteria this morning... we have reasons to suspect you. Did you have anything to do with that, Sabrina?”
“No! All I took was the juice, because nobody was there-“
“Sabrina, considering you lied about stealing the juice, how do you except me to believe you on this?”
“Please Mrs. Wallace! I swear I had nothing to do with the money!”
“Sabrina, you were the only person in the cafeteria this morning. It had to have been you.”
“No! It wasn’t me, I swear!” cries Sabrina. “All I took was the juice!”
“Sabrina, I don’t think you’re gonna like what I’m about to say. But...”
