Chapter 6 by Manbear Manbear

Do the powers that be put an end to this sudden escalation of the auction?

The sales continue

The sale of the young resident ends at $4,700 with no interference from Conner, or any of the other notable authorities in charge of the fundraiser. The middle aged woman who bought him looks like she might have paid an extra thousand dollars or more for him if she had to. She was really quite attractive and you briefly wonder why someone like her needs to pay for a date. The woman's sleeveless Dolce and Gabbana cocktail gown hugs her slender figure like a second skin flattering her in the way that well tailored clothing should but doesn't always; other than the fact that her breasts are much smaller than yours and you can see a few wrinkles on her neck you can only hope to look as fine as this elegant woman when you get to your fifties.

You sense the mood in the room is teetering on a dangerous balance beam, on one hand it could explode into licentious debauchery, and on the other hand puritanical prudishness. Either one would be disastrous for this charity auction and you decide to reset the scene in such a way that will permit this normally conservative group of trustees, benefactors and dignitaries to loosen both their morals and purse-strings without going overboard.

"Oh don't be so shocked Ladies and Gentleman." You reassure the seated guests with a confidence that you have to fake almost entirely. "We all agree that in this twenty-first century that the sale of humans is one of the greatest evils of our world, but just for tonight let's imagine we are in a different time and place - perhaps in the noble halls of ancient Rome where men and women both would attend auctions not unlike this one to purchase captives from the outlying barbarian regions." Smiles and laughter spread from table to table and you decide to get one last dig in for women's rights. "Don't worry about the gentlemen at your tables, Ladies. You know that for thousands of years they have been attending auctions just like this looking to purchase lovely young morsels for themselves." The majority female crowd laugh at the discomfort of their male companions and you feel that the time is right to continue the auction.

You do take the time to wander back to where the last five participants are waiting largely unaware of the new direction this year's auction has taken on. You take the time to explain how the last three participants have agreed to be sold with 'no limitations' you are met first with stunned silence but after Conner and a blond with surfer-boy good looks agree with only the slightest hesitation two of the others go along with your plan. The last man, one of the good-looking orderlies recruited at the last minute by the administrator, declines and you agree to sell him under the agreed upon terms, but the other four are psyching themselves up for this new twist and you hear them plotting as you lead the orderly out to the crowd.

As you expect, the bidding on this man is subdued compared to the past few sales and when he is sold off for $550 the mood of the charity attendees shifts noticeably. The next man in the auction is led out and you are as surprised as the bidders when you see he is no longer in his suit, but wearing only a pair of ragged shorts fashioned from green hospital scrubs. The man is the other remaining construction worker, and his muscled chest and broad shoulders have you reconsidering your decision to forgo bidding on these men. The crowd is wildly appreciative of his physique and the story you paint of a warrior of Carthage who has been procured for their pleasure.

He was sold for $8,600 to a plus-sized bleached-blonde in an Ashley Stewart gown that just barely held her jiggling curves in place, if the man was disturbed by being bought by the jubilant woman he gave no sign of his disappointment, and good naturedly allowed her to lead him to her table. The next auction was for the last remaining surgeon, you feel a little uncomfortable auctioning off the young doctor as he is a Black man and the history of slavery in this country is still a little raw, but the Doctor gives you a wink and proceeds to 'sell' himself. Your part of the auction consisted of little more than helping to remove his shirt running your hands over his lean well formed limbs and torso. You are clearly the envy of more than a dozen eager bidders and the handsome surgeon is the first sale to break the $10,000 mark. As far as you can tell, the handsome dark-skinned man was purchased by a coalition of three or four female doctors who appeared to know him already. You could only speculate on how this fine young man would be shared by his purchasers - he might be in for a very long and demanding night.

Only two men are left in the back room and you had no idea who would be on the stage next; Conner, the gorgeous fireman or the curly-haired broker with the surfer boy physique and golden tan. It is hard to think much about this relatively unimportant detail compared to the troubling decision you had made just a little over two hours ago. Of course, your offer to end the auction with a final sale for the male attendees was before you had taken the initiative and decided to change the terms of the 'date.' Are you willing to go ahead with selling yourself, could you waive the limitations of the agreement like all those men had? Did you even want to?

How do the last sales go?
