The next morning.

Spencer tried his best to sleep, but his mind ran rampant with thoughts of Kirsten. He knew that in a way she'd be happy for him, moving forward after she'd departed. Or maybe that was something he was telling himself to justify what had happened? How would Amy react to him getting back into the dating game?

The thoughts made him restless, and at around 5 o'clock in the morning, he gave up on sleep and moved to Danielle's kitchen. He helped himself to a glass of water and sat down. Once he finished the water, he heard some footsteps, followed by Dani saying "You okay?"

Spencer turned to see Dani wearing a nightgown. She continued walking towards him.

"Yeah, I'm just a little restless, that's all."

Danielle knew there was more to it than Spencer was letting down, so she took a deep breath and sat next to him.

"I'm sorry to have awakened you."

"Nothing a strong coffee can't fix." Spencer gave her a smirk in response.

"I'm sorry if things moved too fast last night."

"It's okay. I just didn't expect things to move so quickly."

"Funny what a little wine can do, huh?"

"Yeah."

"Well, I just want you to know that I'm fine with moving at whatever pace you need to, okay? You've been through a lot and I want to respect."

"I appreciate that."

There's a moment of awkward silence. After a deep breath, Danielle decided to break it. "Do you want to stay for breakfast?"

"Sure. Could I use the shower?"

"Of course. There's one attached to the bedroom."

"Too easy."

Spencer headed back to the bedroom and into the bathroom, his mind a little more at ease. For the last six years, he'd put a freeze on pursuing a romantic relationship, but Danielle seemed willing to break the ice and brave the cold. Despite what happened last night, Spencer wondered if he had again found the kind of special connection that many would consider happens only once in a lifetime.
