Chapter 6 by wraith1113

What choice is made?

The mission comes first.

"Becky, how confident are you about this?" Amanda asked.

"2-1 for the doors, maybe 40% for the cameras?"

Amanda paused for a second... then decided, "We need to stay on mission, we can't afford to fail here."

"You serious? We just gonna leave her alone in there?!" Kelly sounded frustrated.

"We'll try to double back if we can after we plant the charge, but the mission comes first," Amanda declared, giving a cold stare to Kelly. There would be no arguments here.

The team moves on, Becky swearing she could hear yelling and pounding from the middle door as the team left. She really hoped they could finish quickly and return for the civilian.

Luckily for them, the rest of the way seemed to be deserted and they soon found themselves closing in on the control room, the part of the facility where the explosive charges would do the most harm. Located up one floor, it allowed those inside a good view of much of the facility. Unfortunately for them, from their current position the only way to reach it was either up a ladder and over an exposed bridge from the rooftop currently over their heads. The alternative was to sneak across an open courtyard surrounded by the raised walkways that lined it's walls.

Crossing the bridge would leave the team without a lot of room to maneuver and commit them to one angle of attack, however it offered excellent positioning against any targets from ground level and there was a good chance that Sandra could get an angle to assist them. On the other hand, advancing through the courtyard would let the team move more freely and vary up their approach if required... but left them somewhat exposed if engaged by hostiles on the surrounding walkways. Sandra might not be able to help as much with the courtyard approach either.

Amanda observed her options and decided...

Which path does the team take?
