The highway is worth the risk

"Highway it is" you proclaim as you hop to your feet, i mean surely those stories of young women being taken by highway men only to be never scene again are exaggerated... Right?

You quickly push the thought from your mind, you promised a dying man that you'd get this blade to the mountain and you'll be damned if you break that promise..... plus your one place to stay got destroyed so there's that too. For any reason though you know it's time to set off, shouldn't take too long to reach the highway.

You were right, you set a brisk pace and managed to reach to large road in only a few hours as shown by the suns low position on the other side of the sky.

You stop to catch your breath for a moment and take a drink from a small stream, it's cool refreshing water helps you regain some strength in your aching muscles but your rest is short lived as a sudden loud cry pierces the silence "help! Somebody anybody please HELP!!" A mans voice howls out, it sounds distant but you reckon you could close the distance in no time, what do you do?
