The future

"Welcome, to the future" Valerie announced dramatically. Connie looked around, seeing a room full of women in pristine white lab coats. "What is all this?" asked one of the girls. "This" Valerie replied "is the fertility chamber. Due to the heavy casualties sustained to the male population, we have created a contingency plan." Connie peered through one of the windows. She could see an empty padded room that was equally white and pristine as the lab coats of the scientists. In it, there was a raised platform, presumably to be sat or laid on.

"These machines will be a crucial part of our future and survival" Valerie continued. "We will explain to you the ins and outs of how the chambers work at a later date however, I can proudly say that they have been designed by top fertility experts and built by some of our brightest engineers so I am sure that when the time comes, you will find it to be an enlightening experience".

Intrigued at the mystery of the chambers, Connie caught up to Valerie to probe further. "Meet me in my office later and I'll show you" Valerie said with a wink. This was all too much for Connie. The whole situation was confusing and was happening too fast. She was determined to get some answers from Valerie one way or another.
