The first night

It was only later that I discovered what she was, and what I had become.

She had read my mind as she turned me, and discovered where I lived. Secreting me out quietly through the basement, I was carried through one of the cities many sewer systems until she found the exit closest to my apartment. Entering through an upstairs window, she’d set me down in my own bed, drawn the curtains and waited for me to turn.

It took a while. She’d mentioned something later about the **** in my system slowing down the transformation. Maybe that was true, or maybe she hadn’t done it quite right. Turned out that I was the first person she had ever Embraced.

When I awoke the next evening, she was there waiting patiently. Lurched over my still form, I was awoken to the terrible visage of Athene, my Sire.
