The firm.

Beth drove her six year old Kia coupe into the Parking Garage of Ulbrecht, Smith, and Smith, the law firm at which she was a legal secretary. She headed past the front desk, waving to Janine, one of the receptionists as she passed.

}"Mornin...damn girl. You tryin' to get a raise today or something?" Janine was always quick with a joke, and she gave Beth's outfit an appraising look as she passed.
"It's casual Friday, Janine. " Beth answered nonchalantly, trying not to blush at the thought of her bare nethers beneath the short sundress.
"You're crazy..." Janine laughed as she answered the phone. "Ulbrecht, Smith and Smith." {else
}"Morning, Beth!" Janine gave a friendly wave, which Beth returned, before answering the ringing phone. {endif
} Beth got on the elevator and punched the third floor, one from the top. Her office, shared with two other legal assistants, was in the Personal Injury division. Three secretaries-- herself, Margaret and Holly-- served the division partner, Terry Rosen, and the four associates in the division. Beth and the others often complained that the firm needed to hire more; handling the caseload of 5 lawyers stretched the three women sometimes.
She settled into her work routine after cordial greetings and small talk with the other two{if Office Attire = 1
}, as well as some thinly veiled shade regarding her somewhat inappropriate outfit. Beth paid it no mind; she'd seen both women take advantage of the somewhat loose interpretation of casual Fridays in their particular division. What HR didn't know....{else}.{endif

Despite the fact that Terry was on sabbatical until next week, each of the associate PI lawyers had a healthy caseload, and Beth quickly buried herself in the tedium of work.
