Beth's day at the office passed without much fanfare. The senior PI associate, Terry, was on vacation, so the caseload was not as intense with only two lawyers drawing in clients.
The day passed at speed, and Beth spend lulls answering wedding related emails, jotting down a rough draft of the next chapter of her novel, and chatting with the other clerks. David Mossburg, the newest associate attorney in the department, popped in from time to time to request information on some cases and chat a little. He was friendly and a bit cute, and when he left, the other girls quipped, as they often did, that David had a crush on Beth, which she always protested.
The end of the day arrived, and Beth headed home around 4:30, eager to change and start the weekend. Even with casual Friday, she was ready to change into something more comfortable.
