The corridor to the north

The Paladins had a little joke; when they found themselves exploring a ruin or raiding a dungeon but had no map to follow they teased each other that they would default to exploring northwards.

Smiling to herself, trying to keep hold of those good memories, Mira headed towards the northern corridor in the underground labyrinth. She had explored similar mazes before, they would often double as prisons for evil lords and that seemed familiar to her current situation. However, she was usually armed and wearing plate armour while exploring rather than clad only in a thin and all to sexy tunic.

In places along the wall the incubus had mounted small glowing crystals. She had enough light to ensure she did not trip or stumble over the rubble on the floor but not enough to see far down the corridor.

Mira had been walking, carefully, for about twenty minutes before she heard the first sound. It was a deep rumble from ahead. It sounded animal. It sounded large.
