The back door

You go to the back door, it is locked but in your adventures, you learnt how to pick locks. The lock is old and rusted but you can open it with a bit of luck. Inside is dark and gloomy but there is an unlit torch by the entrance. Using your tinderbox and a flint (good thing you came well prepared) you light the torch.

Ahead is a corridor too small for a dragon. You wind your way slowly till you see the corridor leading out into the courtyard. There you see a magnificent gold dragon with its mouth open just behind the front door. Good thing you didn't choose that entrance.

The light from your torch attracts the Dragon's eye "Is that you, My lady?" it asks. You are stunned that it can speak your language. Most dragons talk but most stick to there own language few learn to speak to humans, some are too dumb to even speak the dragon tongue. Taking a closer look the dragon speaks again "No. You are not my lady. You are a knight. You got round my trap, well done. Tell me are you going to try to kill me?" it sounds bemused and speaks with a softer tone than you expected.
