The airport.

After Erica finished classes for the day, she headed to the airport. She'd never considered getting a job there, but her stepfather had spoken with attendants in the business class lounge the last time he was traveling. The attendants had mentioned that there were some part-time openings available when he'd asked.

Most of the positions were full-time and required travel, but living in such a busy city, there were positions that a college student could work on the side, and Erica had really needed the money. Too much of her clothes was being ruined or lost by Lisa and her friends.

She parked her car in the employee lot and walked towards the security checkpoint. Not even employees were given the luxury of not being screened.

"Halt," commanded the security guard. Erica could see a technician working on the machine behind him. "The scanner is not working right now. I'll have to check you the old-fashioned way:"
