The aftermath (2)

Jessica paces around her room. She is preoccupied with her deteriorating relationship with Elizabeth. The family dinner replays in her head. She looks at Linda, who is sleeping in her bed, and smiles. Jessica considers waking the girl for sex, but decides to let her sleep. She has bigger things on her mind. I need someone to talk to she thinks. She goes to the bed. Linda is on her back, the the sheet covering up to her waist. Jessica bends to kiss Linda's breast, and then her forehead.

Jessica walks to Carmilla's room and knocks. "Come in" Carmilla says.

"Carmilla... I'm worried. Worried about Elizabeth will do. She's so cold to me. And it's only getting worse" Jessica says.

Carmilla squeezes Jessica's hand. "It's because of Sally... And Linda. You disobeyed her when you killed Sally. And now, I think that she worries that your relationship with Linda might lead you astray". Carmilla looks at the floor, and continues: "Elizabeth is very...paranoid. I can operate somewhat independently because I've been with her for centuries and I've never explicitly rebelled against her like you did."

"Is she going to hold Sally against me forever? I came back didn't I?" Jessica says frantically, tears forming in her eyes.

"I don't know, Jessica. I'm sorry. You need to convince her that you're loyal. I'd talk to her, but I don't think it would help." Carmilla says sadly.

Jessica thanks Carmilla, and leaves the room, tears wetting her cheeks. She returns to her room, snuggling behind the sleeping Linda. Jessica cries, planning her next move.
