The Village

Taking the information from the people I met earlier , I head toward the village , figuring I can work something out , some sort of permission to hang out near the temple and the village or something.

Walking up to the village there are some farm animals loose running around. I dodge the chickens and look over at the pigs in a pen snorting happily away at eating and rolling in the mud. The area smells like a mix of farm animals and herbs spices as well. The huts , mud walls and dried palms of some sort as roofs seem to make some shade in the blazing afternoon heat.

The natives are all well tanned , mostly women walking around , kids everywhere , and a few men . The men and women all wear loincloths . I do notice quickly the loincloth is not secured , and the women are topless quite quickly , I am glad I am wearing a pair of sunglasses to keep them from seeing my stares , the women are mostly youngish but all seem to have given birth a few times, heavy busts , large areolas . The dark color of most intimate areas is quite intoxicating as I do hazard a few looks before I try to find the person to translate to offer the medicine and rice to the Elder.

The Elder greets me and takes the gifts eagerly , as he says that they don't get a lot of visitors , and that if I want to come sample some dinner later I am welcome , I inquire about the temple , asking about it and balance. He tells me just a bit about how they have some gatherings at the temple every 4 days. I ask when the last one was, he tells me that it was just two days ago. He warns me not to go in to the temple as outsiders can be subject to a curse. I do ask about the curse , feigning a bit of fear and he just laughs and doesn't give me an answer. I thank him for his time and head out of his hut.

Looking around at the village as it is closer to sunset , maybe an hour or so , more people have arrived mostly men but the amount of men to women balances out as far as i can see , perhaps one or two women extra now but they seem fresh , un-bred for lack of a term. They do not look at me much at all , a bit shy perhaps?

I shrug it off. I have to make a decision , do I go for the temple tonight with my light ? or do I go to the dinner and wait out a good time to enter, this curse is just some stupid hokey religious stuff they use to prevent people from doing what I have to do.
