What does the future hold?
The Quiver’s Legacy
Today, fifteen years after my wedding to Adam, we have a total of twelve children. My stomach is marked by silver stretch marks, and I wear the blue dress of the matrons with pride.
On Sundays in church, our two families—mine and Adam’s, and Cynthia and Eliah’s—fill nearly three entire pews. When the children sing in the choir, our father looks down at us with tears of pride. He has achieved his goal: his dynasty is growing and flourishing.
Daniela and Edith have also long since married and started their own rows. The cycle repeats itself endlessly. Aaron, my eldest, is already looking shyly over at little Sarah from the Miller family. Soon, he will be the "A-man" building his own house.
Cynthia and I often stand together after the service. We talk about the harvest, the schooling of the girls, and who will be the next to join the "First Arrow Club." We are no longer rebellious girls. We are the vessels fulfilling God’s plan.
