Chapter 4

Where are they taken?
The Presidential Palace
The limo zooms through the streets escorted by the police.
Njau explains to the girls that they will meet the President of Lumumba himself, General Okeme. "He is very interested to meet you, the daughter of apartheid with a message of inter-racial unity. Did you know that the message of tolerance for white people is considered very radical in this country?"
"Oh?" Brooke says. "Radical?" Maybe this wasn't the best country to start her tour for reconciliation.
"Oh, yes," Njau states. "The colonial period was very bad for Lamumba. Many people died, many people enslaved, and exploited for benefit of white oppressors. Is that the word, oppressors?"
"I think so," Debbie says, slightly embarressed.
"Yes, Debbie White, you are the grand daughter of Reginald White, the legendary tyrant of Anglo-African Minerals Company. Did you know 'White' means 'devil' in Lamumban languages that previously did not have a word for that?"
Debbie blushes in shame. "I... I..."
"Yes, until white people arrived many African languages had no use for words like 'devil' and 'evil.' President Okeme looks forward to meeting you, too. Ah, here we are."
The limo pulls up to the Presidential Palace. A guard opens the door and glowers at Brooke and Debbie as they sheepishly get out of the limo and approach the front door...
What happens at the Palace?
