The Power of the Artificial

"FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!" My cries echoed through the night, My eyes bulging as I gripped Rose tightly around her chest, Her mane of Scarlet hair flowing in the wind as we flew high through the air above the rooftops.

We had set out from the Cave as soon as the others had felt Charlie's summons, Rose hoisting me on her back with ease as we sped off at inhuman speed towards Oldtown, where the Vulcan Woman apparently resided.

Despite feeling like I was gripping desperately unto the side of a Roller coaster, Rose and the others, Namina and the Twins darting through the air, dancing along the rooftops with agility and speed that I still couldn't quite fathom, I couldn't help but find it a little fun.

My heart struck with expiration like a drum under the moonlight, whizzing across water towers, Rose's feet sparking as she slid across electrical lines, it awakened something in Me, lit a fire under my already rampant Instinct

You know, we might not be Undead or anything... but I bet we could do this.

"Are you crazy, I'd break my legs as soon as my feet landed!"

Oh come on, you remember how powerful we are like this, Our legs would heal before you took the next step. Now would be the best time, lingering on the edge of my coming... let go, show these Monsters how it's done!

I felt the heat of My insides constrict my body, the cold flames flowing through my limbs and numbing my fingers, the grip in my hands loosening until my palms slipped from Rose's torso.

Rose's hand snatched at my arm, catching me with quick ease as she looked back with her serpentine eyes... but the thing inside is what smiled back at Her

"How about we see just how powerful a Homunculus is shall we?" My instincts whispered with my lips, Rose looking curiously as she began to rapidly fall, She raised an eyebrow, but the burning curiosity in her eyes was clear as the stars above.

I felt the Upir's fingers gently release me, allowing me to fall from the safety of her strength, the wind whistling past my ears as I fell through the sky.

It was a long way down... 15 meters at least... but not a drop of horror could be felt in my chest, only a fiery determination, the Monster inside of me hissing with excitement as a very flat, very hard looking Rooftop looked up at me, ready to be painted with my splattered blood

Whatever I had become, it wasn't normal, tenfold more powerful that the little Beast that growled for pleasure when I was a child, this thing smiled at the coming **** and through me, prepared to land without a care in the world.

"Take the wheel..."

"Well, I'm not gonna survive that fall am I!? ...You got us into this mess, so You have to get us out of it."

Oh Didi, I'm going to do more than just get us out of it, I'm going to blow us right through this motherfucker!"

The Cold Fire overcame me, consuming every part of my being, hardening my bones, bolstering my muscles and crushing my fears, as my feet collided Violently with the smooth roof tiles.

I felt the bones of my ankles crack, my feet splintering, shins fracturing... but... I did not die. My body remained upright, the muscles in my legs flexing into ballons of veins, the pain lingering for less than a second before an ungodly flash of crimson light sparked around them, the cartilage in my ankles fusing back together, My feet collapsing back in on themselves and My shin bones flowing backwards into solid form like they had never been injured in the first place.

Red eyes looked back at Me, worried looks on their faces as they landed, watching my crouched form as a wide smile arched across my face "My Turn."

I shot like a cannonball from that spot, the tiles rupturing beneath my power as I hurtled through the air. The Vampire's below lingered in shock for a moment, though one Red haired Upir smirked among them, following suit as she took off through the concrete jungle after me.

"I LOVE IT WHEN A TEAM COMES TOGETHER!" Huginn laughed as He dove across the top of a bank and towards an Old Satellite building, Muninn moving slightly awkwardly most likely due to her body still fixing itself and her brains still scrambling back into form

"Don't mind me, just a little wobbly" She assured as Namina pulled her away before she impaled herself on a TV antenna.

"Wooo!" My instincts howled, as the breeze swept past, My form streaking through the night, the unwavering exploration of my rapid movement quelling the pain of My bones rupturing with each landing, undone by the Crimson light that encircled me, the Undead at My side as We, together began dancing along the rooftops.

"Diana!?" My eyes wildly looked bellow, spotting a figure, her long dark brown hair whipping against her back as she burst into the sky alongside Me, her Brown eyes flashing red with excitement as many other figures began to emerge from the darkness, flying through the air in a growing hoard... or Clan, now that I think about it.

"Jesus Christ, Diana, since when could You travel like us!?" Belle asked as the two of them slid down a Long warehouse's long chimney, kicking hard against it and shooting further through the shadows

"Since now!" Diana smiled, feeling her arm dislocate and reset as she swung on an iron bar, the cracking pain doing nothing to dissuade Her flipping around like a monkey

"Well... alright, cool. Come on, I want to be the first to Answer Charlie's summons! race You there!?" Belle cried, landing on all fours and firing herself wildly forward like a bullet, Running with My Instincts eldritch strength to catch up with her, the Monster's screams within fueling My fire as we converged on Oldtown.
