The Messages

The next morning, I woke early and made breakfast for the two of us. While sipping my coffee, I checked my phone. Oliver had sent me a message shortly after leaving last night. It read:

Hey Carrie,
I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for everything. You’ve been… incredible. I never expected to have such an amazing connection with someone like you—so confident, so unapologetically yourself. You’ve shown me things I didn’t even know I wanted to experience, and I’ll always be grateful for how open and fun you’ve been with me. You’ve got this way of making me feel alive and completely at ease, all at once, and I’ll never forget it.
Honestly, I really hope this wasn’t just a one-time thing. I’d love for us to have more fun together—if that’s something you’d be up for too. No pressure, but I couldn’t not say it. I feel like there’s so much more we could explore, and I’d hate for it to end here.
