The Lady Drake

Walking through the City was an odd, although welcomed change to the flow of the past couple of weeks, sure You had been out hunting since then but that didn't end well, there was less agency this time as You allowed Your self to pass through the evening crowds, the heavily alluring scent of all the people disturbing You only a little as You caught the eye of many a fine Young woman on the streets.

Just walking on the busy streets, seeing normal people, it made You realise just how much You had changed, before Nobody would have batted an eye at Your small form, pulling Yourself in, hiding from any attention, but now You walked proudly, head held high and smile bared for all to see. The streetlights shone brightly above You, the bright shop signs, The thousands upon thousands of footstep, all of these people, so busy and alive and filled to the brim with blood, it was a little distracting, to say the least, and though It was only a short walk to the apartment, none the less the musk of human scent was beginning to get to You a little, making Your stomach rumble, and so You decided to cut into an alleyway to ascended upward, taking to Diana's apartment via rooftop.

Kicking from rooftop to rooftop was even easier than it was even easier than before, Kicking off the tiles and flat conquered to through the cool air, never before had You felt so free, Your shadowed form gliding across the night to Your destination, until Your shoe gave out that is... "Ah fuck!" You cried as You left foot slid, the sole of Your shoe ripping right off as You tumbled down towards an alcove.

You flew downward at a staggering speed, rag-dolling into a fire escape railing, smashing Your ankle on a brick wall and landing face-first into the Alley floor "Ow...... that sucked." Jumping up to Your feet, You winced as Your nose snapped suddenly back into place "Gah! wow! that was worse!" You cried, shaking the pain off, "Excuse me, sir!" You turned Your attention to a figure, approaching with the light of his torch pointing right at You, though Your superhuman eyesight pushed past the blinding light, allowing you to see the overweight Young man in a Blue uniform "Oh Hi there, Officer." You said smiling, He continued to point his torch "How did You get back here sir? We close this area off." He eyed You with suspicion, "Oh, I just, you know, dropped in?" The round man raised an eyebrow "I'm... gonna need You to come with me, sir." You frowned "Alright, I really can't be bothered to deal with You right now."

"I'm sorry wha-" His voice was cut off by You grasping him with Your mind "Be still." The Man's body seized up almost immediately, his torch smashing as it hit the ground, You smiled in the darkness "What in the name of... I Can't Move-"

"Hush now, Be silent." The man's mouth slammed close as You approached. Casting Your hearing a little further out You could hear a couple of people, by the Apartment lobby's entrance "How many of You are there?" The fat Cop gave You a panicked look, still unable to speak "Oh, sorry. Tell me, why are You here, how many of You there are."

"Four, there are four of us, looking after Miss Drake until the chief says its safe for her." He answered quickly, a confused look on his face as he heard his own words "Hmmm, Well then, You'd better walk me in a tell them that I'm invited." The cop suddenly stood straight nodding before marching forward "This way sir!" He said happily, his heavy form gallivanting along with glee "that worked a lot better than I thought it would." You smiled following Your new friend into the lobby.

With the ease of which You managed to infiltrate the Lobby of Diana's fancy apartment complex, slipping past all of the Police with a couple of hypnotic words, You had plenty of time to think on Rose's question, ascending the stairs as You did.

"I don't know why I am smiling..."

"The Beast is still rattling his cage, I don't want to kill any less, and yet..."

You arrived at the top floor, walking down the long hallways and ascending the stairs towards the premium apartments "...I am making progress I guess, no more Corvus or Gerix to get in my way, I'm following my own will, my Instinct..." You reached the stair's summit, standing in front of the tall white door, the number 50 marked in black on its face "...And my Will is telling me to Face my fate with a smile." You lightly pressed on the doorbell a happy smile on Your face as You did...

You had been waiting for a little while now, this would have been the fourth time that You rang the doorbell, Your grin replaced by an annoyed frown, Is she not home? "Diana!" You called knocking on the door, still nothing "Diana?" the second knock was a little harder, still nothing "For fuck's sake" You said in defeat "She must have run away, after all, can't say I blame her." Turning to leave, You heard the click of a lock, Your smile returned.

Gently, slowly and cautiously, Diana cracked open the door poking her face slightly through it, She looked a little frightened though she hid it well, very well, if You couldn't hear the heavy thumping of her heartbeat or the quickening pace of Her breathing then You would have fallen for that poker face. "J-just stay right there, don't move from that spot." She commanded, allowing more of her face through to get a better look at You, You folded Your arms "Relax Didi, I couldn't get to You even if I wanted too." She made a face at Your off-handed comment, though the use of the nickname she hated seemed to quell her fear a little "I can't pass the threshold into Your home without an invitation." You said as She raised an eyebrow "A-And why would that be?" She poorly held back a stammer, You chuckled "Now if You haven't figured that out by now then Your not as smart as You think You are."

Diana eyed You suspiciously, though she eventually closed the door, removing the latch and open it wide, revealing her hand hidden behind her back "Black baby will be in that hand no doubt." You thought "She can't do any real damage with it I guess?" Diana stepped back nodding for Your to come forward, You stepped forward almost immediately feeling the harsh pushing **** the moment You tried to step past the door frame "You have to Verbally invite me in, freely and of Your own volition." just as You had read in the Gerix library, Higher Vampires are particularly attached to these kinds of rules, She frowned "And if I invite You in, do I have to invite You in a second time?" You shook Your head, She shifted uncomfortably but eventually built up the courage "You can come in."

You raised Your hands, just for the extra reassurance, carefully stepping past her Threshold and into the apartment, Diana nodded towards the Living area, Backing away as You closed the door and moved over to the couch where You stood for quite a while.

Diana wore clothes a little too casual for her, dressed in expensive apparel, usually suits most of the time for her work at Her Law Firm, today however she was wearing a pair of Grey Leggings, a lazy blue vest that hugged her bra-less breasts tightly, the nipples very visible as she breathed heavily, staring silently, "Your hair is long..." You were trying to sound friendly, she didn't react still eyeing You with suspicion, it was true, however, it was never Your sister's style to have her pitch-black hair down to her shoulders, not to mention to have it so messy, unbrushed and wild like this, She had dark bags under her eyes also, Diana never missed a lick of sleep, sleeping was Her favourite thing in the world in fact.

"So You're what, some kind of Vampire or something?" She asked, finally breaking the silence, "Some kind, yeah." She shook her head "Aren't You gonna eat me or something?" You grimaced "If I was going to eat You then I would have done it earlier." Diana nodded, You could feel her grip relaxing a little on the grip of the gun behind her Back, You smiled going to move a little closer.

Diana's face erupted with panic, her arm swinging around to point the gun at You as her face twitched with nerves "Stop, just stay there... please." You nodded, keeping Your hands where She could see them, "You look pretty shitty Didi..." She cracked a smile, some tears welling in her Hazel eyes "Losing Your dad and Your brother vanishing will do that to You, mourning the loss of Your entire family in one night Ya Know..." Tears began to fall down her face, though she refused to break the tough look in her eyes "...That and I think I might be losing my fucking mind, seeing things that clearly can't be real, like You, a man who looks and sounds like my brother but doesn't at the same time and who I'm pretty sure is about to kill me." You frowned "Listen to me," sincerity filled Your voice "You saw Rose spear through me with half of her arm, You know I'm real Didi..." You took a step forward "You can shoot me if You want, It won't kill me, at least I don't think it will..." another step forward "If I wanted to kill You, I definitely could have, I still could now, God knows that I thought that You'd deserve that at one point," Diana smiled furtively through her tears "Still, I have to say..." You reached up, gently pushing down the Magnum and smiling at her "I'm happy to see You, sis."

Diana wrapped her arms around You, quietly sobbing into Your chest, her tears soaking into Your shirt as she held You tightly as if to reassure herself that You were real. sitting her down and grabbing her some tissues, Your sister blew her nose "So how long have You been, like this?" She said, gesturing to Your entire body "Since dad died." A quiet optimism came about her "Y-You were there, He called us both to meet him, I was late." You frowned "Consider Yourself lucky, it wasn't something that You would want to see." She pressed "What happened Chip, You need to tell me, why did I come home to find Our dad dead and out home demolished", You sighed, caving as You saw a rare sincerity in her eyes, "Alright, I'll Tell You."
