The Kitchen

After putting your sheets in the wash and having a shower you head down to the kitchen. You can smell bacon from the moment you left your room, and your stomach growls. The sound of your mom singing to some song on the radio makes you smile as you enter. There's a large plate of pancakes next to a bowl of fruit and your mom is currently finishing off the bacon in a large pan. She turns when you walk in and gives you a smile.

"Morning birthday girl! I made your favorite," she motions to the food, and turns back to the bacon.

"You seem upbeat," you mumble, grabbing a slice of fruit.

"Well my baby is finally an adult," Your mom reminds you, "and there are a few things we need to talk about. But first, lets eat!"
