The Green Goblin defeats Spider-Man

"In the world you know, the Green Goblin asked Spider-Man to chose between saving Mary Jane or a bunch of kids. After Spider-Man saved both, the Green Goblin took him elsewhere to fight. In the end, Spider-Man was victorious and the Goblin died by his own glider" said Asmodatu, "but if the Green Goblin had been victorious"

The final battle between Spider-Man and the Green Goblin began with the Green Goblin throwing a pumpkin bomb at Spider-Man. However this time, the explosion that would otherwise badly wound Spider-Man, instead killed him.

With his foe defeated, the Green Goblin decided to pay Mary Jane another visit. They would have one hell of a time. It was just a pity, he couldn't tell Spider-Man this before he died.

Returning to the ferry where Spider-Man had dropped everyone off, the Green Goblin swooped in and grabbed Mary Jane.

"No one will save you this time" he said, "Spider-Man is dead"

The Green Goblin flew off with Mary Jane in his arms. Not wanting Mary Jane to find him his identity, the Green Goblin gassed her **** like he had previously done with Spider-Man.

Mary Jane woke up to find herself tied a bed in a straight room. Unbeknownst to her, this room was a secret lair within Osborn's mansion. The room was soundproof so no visitors would hear her screams. Hanging on the wall was the body of Peter Parker.

He was dressed in the Spider-Man, missing only his mask.

"No, this can't be" said Mary Jane.
