Chapter 5 by sewdohnihm
And well it should be
The Forest quivers
As the Oni entered the forest, a deathly quiet flooded the area, a typhoon of nothing, fear, something had gone dreadfully awry or perhaps something dangerous this way comes.
If it wasn't for this deafening silence, then it would have been impossible to hear the approach of this something. Leaves and branches bend and warp as a creature invisible except only to the insanely perceptive began to approach. Across from a small pond slight depressions in the grass before the chameleon-esqe camoflauge of the creature flickers just for a moment, long enough to take in the danger that had presented itself.
It was unmistakably feline and the size of a very large bear, with two long tentacles stretching from its cheeks that ended in squidlike grasping limbs, it had no fur instead a silicone like rubbery skin that was black as the deepest ocean. The creature had no fat on its lithe form either, the skin sculpted perfectly along its muscular form. And then it was gone again, at least from sight.
To the book learned this creature was a kind of displacer beast commonly referred to as a coerl, gifted in hypnotic magic's with paralytic grasping tendrils and nasty claws, teeth and attitude and the cherry on top was an innate ability to turn invisible. This was going to be a dangerous fight.
The kitty wants to play, do you?

IMPREGNATAR | ANARCHY
A FREEFORM GAME OF SURVIVAL AND IMPREGNATION
An anarchy variant of IMPREGNATAR. While the original had a set handful of GMs, a canon timeline and balanced encounters, this version does away with balance by allowing anyone to GM any posts, including their own. This is an interactive survival story that's like a combination of D&D, Dark Souls, and Zelda. Your character awakens spawned into the middle of an unfamiliar forest. They have little memory of who they are or how they got there, and all but the faintest of survival assets. Post by post they will explore their surroundings hoping to gain skills, level up, and survive by avoiding any Bad End scenarios with a horrific (and probably kinky) fate. Or, in this case, probably experience as many Bad Ends as possible as they traverse multiple timelines.
