Chapter 11
by
The Second One
Do you attack?
The Druid gains the upper hand.
The Dryad is gaining on the Druid, but the latter appears to have a trick up her sleeve. Or, rather, inside the leather satchel on her belt. She reaches into the small compartment and retrieves a seed or nut of some kind.
It is roughly the size of your thumbnail, round and dark brown in colour. The Druid throws it at the ground behind her, and it buries itself in the grass and soil. The Dryad ignores it, until the ground where the seed landed begins shaking ever so slightly.
The Dryad's feet are suddenly wrapped in creeper vines that burst from the earth, encircling her ankles and calves in a green embrace. The Druid turns around and pauses as the Dryad hits the ground, the vines having immobilized her and making her fall.
"Ha!" The Druid laughs, dancing in place for a moment like an excited child. "I did it! They all said I'd never do it and I did!"
In the throes of celebration she fails to notice the Dryad reaching towards the vines and scratching at them with her woody claws. However, the creepers are made of tough plant fibres that refuse to break at all, and the Druid laughs again as more creepers wrap around her wrists, essentially tying them together.
"I've got you now!" She chuckles, skipping over to the helpless Dryad as the wooden creature writhes and twists in her bonds. "Oh, stop that. You can't break a snare-vine, especially not a weak little sapling like you."
You decide now is a good time to approach, your heavy footsteps audible over the open field. The Druid sees you approaching and lets out a loud 'EEP!' of surprise, drawing a curve-bladed dagger from her belt and holding it in two trembling hands. Your own blade is still sheathed at your side, and the Druid notices it with another 'EEP' and a jab of the knife towards you.
"Wh-who are you?" She asks, voice stuttering with fear. "Wh-what do you w-want?"
What do you want?

You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
