Chapter 90 by YZS YZS

Who are these monster girls, and what are they doing at this island?

The Dragon Jesters

"Who are you??" - Faranne asked what everyone was thinking, but not being able to be her authoritative self, since she didn't know what to do with the three monster girls in front of her. She first thought of attacking them, even when she knew she couldn't fight a dragon girl, but she would have done everything to protect her friends, since the ones that she most cared about were seemingly at risk right now.

But as she didn't have the courage to make a move, Faranne just stood in front of Finn, Zoey, Lilith and Itzel, to protect them in the case the monster girls meant harm. But while she treated her friends like her babies, Faranne hoped she could trust the monster girls, or at least make sure they wouldn't hurt anyone but her. And as the dragon girl, saw Faranne's pure intentions, and since she was apparently the leader of her group, she decided to stay peaceful, and respond to some of the questions the villagers had.

"Hello, nice to meet all of you... Before you can do any dumb decision let me introduce ourselves... My name is Haze, she is Tsuri, and that's Erys..." - Haze, the black dragon girl, presented herself, the sharkgirl, and the slime girl respectively, while trying not to be threatening. And as Finn noticed the monster girls were being friendly, he felt a bit more relaxed, or at least comfortable to make some questions.

"Okay... and what do you want?" - Finn asked nervously, as he couldn't help but be a little intimidated by the dragon girl, who understood his curiosity, and even fear, and tried to respond to Finn as soon as possible.

"We are here for one simple reason... to find a human that we heard lives in this island... and that would be you..." - Haze replied, being as straightforward as one can be, without trying to deceive, manipulate, or intimidate Finn with her response. And while he thought the dragon girl was being honest, he couldn't believe the monster girls were here for him, since he believed he wasn't special, just a regular human boy. But as Haze looked at him, and realized he was trying to make sense of the situation, she decided to explain some more, before Finn could start losing his mind.

"I know you are already asking why, so let me tell you... We have been sent by our goddess Wrath to recruit as many heroes as we can for an upcoming war... We searched for a while, and found a few good candidates... But we have yet seen someone with as much potential as you, so we are going to take you to our city so you can fight for the safety of our planet..." - Haze explained, while trying to use hand movements to make it easier for Finn to comprehend what she was saying. And while he did understand what she was telling him, he was just as confused as his friends, who were now all stunned, leaving him as the only one who could talk.

"Uhh, and you only need me to do that?? Isn't there another human that could be the one you are looking for?" - Finn asked with concern, as he was afraid he would end up leaving his friends if he chose to be a hero. And even though it was obvious the monster girls needed him, Finn was still trying to confirm if there was another way out, that Haze proved immediately

"Yes, we are supposed to lead you Finn, and only you, to become the greatest hero in Lustyre... And we don't have much time to waste, so you might want to hurry up..." - Haze replied, with a serious tone, that led Finn to believe she was telling the truth, which meant he would have to leave his friends before.

"Wait, wait, wait... I can't just leave like that... This is where I live, I can't abandon this island without my friends..." - Finn blurted out, as he was too nervous to go with the monster girls, since he of course didn't want to leave Zoey or Faranne behind. Haze understood why Finn would not want to leave the island, so she tried reasoning with him, but before she could do that, Tsuri stepped in, to express some very different thoughts.

"Are you stupid?? You should be thankful for having the opportunity to serve our greatest goddess... Are you seriously choosing some friends over the chance of being a glorious and honorous hero??" - Tsuri asked aggressively, as she stepped closer to Finn, and threatened him with her fist, which didn't scare him, but did make him think of what he wanted.

"I mean, yes... I guess I do want to stay here more than fight for something I don't even fully know... These people are family to me, I love them too much to leave them for whatever you want me to do... I think you should explain it a little better, because I really don't think I understand..." - Finn replied, with a sincere, and slightly shy voice, as he knew he couldn't choose Haze's offer over his loved ones. And since the dragon girl understood him, she tried calming down Tsuri, and become the one to speak sense into Finn, and hope he would be more willing to help if he heard the truth.

"Well, as you all know, we are living in an age of constant wars... Lately the Crimson Empire has been taking over hundreds of lands, they are helping the corruption spread, to take over the entire world, and infecting thousands of innocent creatures in the process... and not even the elven army is capable of stopping them, so that's why they are looking for more young heroes to fight for them..." - Haze started explaining, and even though she was being very clear with her words, she immediately confused all of the villagers even more, but continued talking.

"Now, normally I wouldn't really care about this, but if the demon king, or anyone with bad intentions could invade the capital of the Elven Kingdom, they would probably rule the whole world, and therefore only the people in Haven would be safe, or at least be able to survive peacefully, while all the others species would perish in the corrupted lands... It would be a dream to live without all of you scum, but we are not the ones that make the decision if you should live or not, unfortunately that is decided by our gods... and since they are so fond of their pathetic creations, they are never going to let their world get destroyed with corruption..." - Haze continued speaking, with a bit more of a malicious tone, as she showed some of her intentions, that even though sounded bad, she was hoping it would convince Finn to accept her offer. But instead of Finn understanding, and becoming eager to fight for the Elven Kingdom, he was more confused by all of the concepts Haze used.

-Why do I have to be the one who saves the world?? There are plenty of heroes out there who are much better than me, I know that for sure... and why can't the gods just fight this battle for themselves??...Whhy do they always use us as their pawns for their dumb wars??... Does Haven really exist??... because if it did then we could all just go live there, and meet the gods or just live peacefully... I don't care if they say the elven queen is beautiful or not, I would like to meet her, but I'm never going to leave my friends to do that...- Finn questioned himself, as he was very **** to go fight for his gods, even though the idea of becoming a hero excited him. But as Haze mistook Finn's thoughtful moment as only him processing all the information, she was sure that he would be ready to give her an answer, which he was clearly not.

"You understand now the stakes of our current situation?? Do you want our world to end??" - Haze asked, in a bit of an impatient manner, as she needed a response from Finn, who only stood in silence, trying to figure out what to do, or even what to think about. And since his lack of an answer began frustrating the monster girls, Tsuri felt like they should pressure him into responding, and Erys thought the same, but tried doing it in a different approach.

"Come on Finn, our boss would get really mad at us if we don't complete our mission... you wouldn't let humanity down, would you??" - Erys asked Finn, with a beguiling voice, as she hoped her sexy poses, and cute expressions would convince him to help them, but instead it only confused him more. Finn didn't know how to react, and even though the monster girls didn't know why, it was obvious to his friends that he couldn't give a rational response at this point.

While everyone remained quiet, Zoey and Faranne were starting to understand the situation, just like Finn, but instead of being unable to speak like him, they tried finding a quick solution to their problem. Zoey thought she should fight the monster girls, and so did Faranne, but after seeing how troubled Finn seemed, she changed her mind. As soon as she saw his emotionless expression, Faranne got very worried for him, so she tried prioritizing his wellbeing over the threat of the monster girls, which meant protecting him at all cost, even if she couldn't confront Haze like she truly wanted.

"Alright, I don't know where you came from, what all of this means, or how you know Finn's name... But I'm going to ask you politely to please leave us alone, and never come back to this island..." - Faranne said to the monster girls, who weren't threatened by her attempt of being assertive, but since she didn't want to fight them, she instead tried to argue in a civil manner. Faranne just wanted the monster girls to leave them alone, or at least stop harassing Finn with their mission, but while it seemed like the nice approach she took was working, it still didn't solve the problem.

"We are not allowed to do that yet... We need confirmation from Finn, as long as he doesn't give us an answer we are not leaving..." - Haze replied, with a more of a calm voice, after she realized Finn was very distressed by the opportunity he was facing. And while he wasn't able to defend himself yet, he luckily had Faranne to protect him, whose maternal instincts kicked in, and made her hug her sweet boy to make him feel safe.

"But- he is still just a kid... You can't put that much pressure on him and expect to give you a clear answer... it just doesn't make sen-..." - Faranne replied in panic, as she didn't know how to give Haze a clear answer, and even made Finn seem weak, so they wouldn't take him away from her. But as she knew the dragon girl wasn't going to negotiate with her, Faranne started to realize it was pointless to try to keep Finn with her, since she didn't know what he truly wanted. So even though she was scared of the idea of Finn abandoning the island, Faranne kept her composure, and tried to come up with an agreement with the monster girls.

"Fine, you three can stay at the island until Finn makes his decision, he needs time so it might take a week or two, is that okay?" - Faranne asked anxiously, as she wasn't too sure if Haze was going to accept her terms. But after the dragon girl felt compassion for Faranne, after seeing how much she clearly love, and cared about Finn, she thought it would be a good idea to give them time to think, and that way they could stay on the island for a while.

"Yes, I guess that could work... We can stay for a maximum of 10 days here, so where could we wait for Finn's response?" - Haze replied positively, which gave Faranne a huge sense of relief, after having the chance of keeping Finn on the island for a few more days. But as she couldn't stop thinking of what was going to happen with her sweet boy, Faranne continued holding his head, and not paying attention to Haze's question that much.

"Uhh, there are some guest houses near the lake, make yourself at home... but please let him think in peace for a while, we can continue discussing this tomorrow morning, alright?" - Faranne replied in distraught, as she was focusing more on hugging Finn than listening to Haze. But after giving the monster girls permission to stay on the island, Faranne now had to deal with living with them for a while, but she wasn't too worried about that at the moment, since she only wanted to get Finn away from them.

"Fine, I hope we can all get along..." - Haze responded, with a bit of a cheerful smile, as she saw Faranne taking Finn away from them. The dragon, shark, and slime girl decided not to bother them anymore, and instead stayed at the lake, and searched for a good place to sleep. And now with the issue solved temporarily, Finn was accompanied by his friends, as they all walked back to the village, where they could hopefully think more about the situation.

What is Finn and his friends going to do with all the information given by Haze?
