Where does the job go wrong?
The Classroom
Mrs. Townsend opened a door across the hall from a row of wide lockers, welcoming Kate in. The classroom was generic looking adding a modernized charm with two computers set up in the far corner of the room. Though, for safety reasons. Kate assumed that both computers were programed to only allow word processors. In the center of the classroom was of course, the desks.
For reasons not yet known to Kate, the desks were long tables paired with two wooden chairs. Kate came to the conclusion that the two seated tables were there to help teach the children about partnership. Something Kate lacked but desperately wanted in life.
And finally, at the front of the classroom was Miss Ambers' table. She wanted to protest to Mrs. Townsend about it's size, but remained grateful that she even has a table or more accurately, a desk.
"If you're wondering why your at a desk and not a table." Mrs. Townsend began, seemingly reading Kates mind. "It is to boost the children's confidence. Nothing more. The children should be in momentarily." With that, Mrs. Townsend left with her high heels clapping on the floor, walking away.
Kate somehow knew that Mrs. Townsend was withholding something back, but shrugged it off as nervousness about her new position.
