Chapter 2 by The Night

What to Check First?

The Bedroom

Might as well check the bedroom first. Maybe I’m just tired and need some sleep anyway. I entered the room and looked around. Everything seemed normal. The bed was made, my books were neatly put away, the closet door was…...open? I didn’t leave that open. I shined my light on my closet….that’s odd. The flashlight didn’t illuminate anything in the closet despite it being trained directly on it. It was like there was a wall of darkness or something. I slowly inched forward, never moving my light from the closet.

As I crept forward, the door behind me suddenly slammed shut. I whirled around at the loud noise. The door slammed inward. There wasn’t any wind blowing in that direction. Something really weird was going on here. And it quickly got weirder. Something suddenly wrapped around both my wrist, yanking my arms backwards in the process. As I struggled to keep from getting yanked backwards, I looked behind me to see what had gotten a hold of me. To my utter shock, the darkness in my closet had shot out and wrapped around my wrist like ropes. Thankfully I was strong enough to keep from getting yanked back into the darkness, which I figured would be a bad thing. Another rope of darkness shot out from the closet and wrapped itself around my waist. This wasn’t looking good. Suddenly I felt the darkness around my wrist pull my arms down towards my sides. As my arms came to my waist, the darkness around my arms and waist suddenly merged together, binding my arms to my sides. Two more ropes of darkness then wrapped around my ankles, yanking me off my feet and pulling my ankles together, binding them. Now thoroughly tressed up, I was helpless to stop the darkness from pulling me into the black abyss of my closest. As the darkness surrounded me, I started to grew groggy, eventually passing out.

What will happen to our heroine?
