The Backstory

The last rays of the pass over you. You open your eyes. You rise from your coffin. You are in a large dark room. You sniff the air. It smells musty and dank. It appears to be a basement. Three figures saunter in.

The first is Gwen, still in her translucent ivory dress. She stares at you hungrily.

The second is younger. She is pale, with long blonde hair. Dark eyeshadow gives her a predatory look.

The third looks like the wicked witch from Oz.

“Meet the crew, Jack. This is my disciple Lorelei. I helped her kill her parents and frame her brother. She’s almost too rich.”

The blonde, Lorelei, smiles. “Don’t be silly Gwen. You can never be too rich or too hot.”

She thrusts out her breasts and gives you a lusty wink.

“Of course. And, this is Eileen. She is a black witch who has allied herself with us. She has a gift for you.”

“Nice to meet you, Jack.” She cackles. She hands you an onyx amulet.

You note that both Gwen and Lorelei have them.

“The shadestone will allow you to walk about in daylight.”

Interesting. You slip it on and feel it’s magic.

“Remember, you won’t have your full powers in the daylight.”

Gwen resumes. “This house is safe. It has a security **** and they are all blood thralls.”

Lorelei giggles. “It’s so nice not having to pay the help.”

Gwen glares at her. “The Mayor belongs to me. The chief of police is Lorelei’s. Still we must be cautious. Tina survived and with her little band of do gooders she is trying to destroy all of the House’s creations. Thankfully, she is preoccupied with a pack of werewolves right now. Filthy beasts. She will need to be dealt with before the world belongs to us.”

“Ruling the world.” You smile. “A worthy goal, but first...”
