Chapter 15
by CrocodileHAZARD
How do you want to attack him?
Target Robin’s emotional scars and wounds.
One facet of his life that Robin refuses to talk about, especially with his team, is his old days in Gotham City moonlighting under Batman. There were numerous reports on small time criminals caught by the boy wonder whose testimonies included some revealing insight into the mind of Robin. Whatever happened in Gotham City, it had caused a significant strain on the youth’s ability to follow Batman’s lead. Even now, reporters who’ve had a chance at an interview with him have been unable to get even a vague answer from him regarding the exact motivations regarding his departure from the Dark Knight’s city. Based on every piece of information you can dig up, focusing on the most recent, it still appears to be a sensitive subject.
That presents a very exploitable weakness, if groomed properly.
Robin is no stranger to head games. Tipping your hand too early is a good way to destroy any chance you have of well and truly throwing him off his game with what is perhaps his biggest vulnerability. It has to be subtle, something that forces his own emotions to attack themselves, rather than anything you could attempt to **** on him.
Unfortunately, the specifics are just not there. The details you’d need to effectively trap Robin in a loop of anger and frustration are seemingly nowhere to be found. Without them, you could only hypothesis or guess to the nature of the Dynamic Duo’s fallout. Hardly an encouraging position when your plan depends on that one point to make everything come together.
But perhaps you didn’t need the FULL story. Just bits and pieces of the story, mixed with other sore spots in Robin’s life, could achieve the same effect.
Whatever happened in Gotham, his time under Slade as his apprentice, his creation of the Red X Suit, the Titan's near destruction against the Brotherhood of Evil, his argument with Starfire and Raven...
Bird Boy has more than a few mistakes under his belt. While it’s true that he’d have gained some measure of insight to every mistake with enough time, all you need is an opening. Just one move he isn’t prepared for and he will be unable to fully dismiss the full weight of his mistakes.
The trick is finding the most sensitive wound to pick at. If the issue with Gotham and Batman is not that wound, then perhaps Starfire and Raven’s relationship will be. Even if you aren’t completely successful with the maneuver, you should buy yourself enough of an edge to beat him.
Beyond that, it shouldn’t be too hard to rig up a temporary jamming decide to keep the other Titans away. If you manage to get everything together in time, no one should even know he’s back in town. Considering the distance he’s been keeping from his team, it’s unlikely that he will have informed the others of his return.
Another mistake on Robin’s part you plan to exploit.
As the night approaches, when and where do you engage Robin?
