Chapter 7 by D!$N3Y D!$N3Y

What's on the driver's mind?

Takeoff!

All the students watched in a mix of confusion and fascination as the driver changed his instruments to something like on those huge airlines. A Boeing 747, maybe... As he drove through the city, he came upon an unfinished bridge. Two columns of traffic cones lined the entrance of the on-ramp. As the bus went faster and faster, two sets of seatbelts came over each of its passengers, securing them in place.

"Hang on, folks!" called the driver, then he said more softly, "Gonna get wild." Straight ahead was a rectangular sign saying 'Road ends', and the bus just... ran right over it! There was a sudden drop, and while the driver enjoyed the thrill of falling, the students, including George, screamed their heads off in a panic. "Babies..."

The driver quickly pulled out her wings on either side of the bus, and revealed six engines in a trapezoid formation. With the engines, the bus zoomed upward with a burst! The students were still screaming, but George...? "Woohoo!" he cheered. It was like being on a roller coaster; it was great. The bus soon smoothed out and through billows of clouds, stood-- no, floated!-- the university.

"There she is, folks," the driver announced, "Sky High. It's constantly hovering due to the latest in antigravity technology. Her location is a well-kept secret against those who have malicious intent, so it's known only to a select few, including myself. Paul McNabb." The bus began making its descent in front of the school, and Paul opened the doors as soon as they came to a complete stop.

"All ashore, freshman. And good luck." Everyone stepped out and marveled at the people going inside, or loitering on campus: teens with wings; one teen could breathe fire, while another stomped his foot and the earth underneath the first upturned violently. The former got catapulted into the air!

"Wow..." George croaked.

Meanwhile?
