You just stare at him, so he continues, “how about one for one.” You just stare him down, so he continues, “ok, then how about all the nobles.”
This prompts you to answer, “look, you could offer all the elvish; I’m not giving up your daughter.”
The king continues, “ok, no giving her up. I got it. How about this then, she stays here, and we split time; meanwhile, you can take any OTHER elf with you.”
“No,” you answer
The King “What if I allow you to take any reasonable amount of OTHER elves with you?”
Your eyes lit up, “What’s the definition of reasonable?”
The king instantly regretted his choice of words, but it was too late, and he knew he had to go with it. So he turned the question back on you, “more important is what is your definition of reasonable?”
You give him a wicked smile, “Well, she was the future queen, so it’s reasonable to say a queen for everyone whose she is in charge of.”
His face cringes, “you know you can’t walk out of here with every elvish female.”
You smile at him. “I see where that would be a problem now. But then again, she is the future queen. So let’s see how we can work this out.” You pause for a second
