Take out the mages first

You notice the mages are grouped near the barn. Perhaps they thought having their backs to a wall was a good defensible position. If you had your way, they will be very wrong.

You slip back out of the front lines and sprinted towards the barn. Inside, you estimate where the mages were, and ran full speed into the thin wooden walls, using your armor clad shoulder to break through.

You emerge from the other side in a burst of splinters, catching the goblin mages by surprise. One, two, three, four, five... you swing your mace in an arc, hitting all of them on the head.
