Chapter 13 by Daylan Daylan

What's Your Choice?

Take The Longer Single Class

Aspecta again gives you the impression she is smirking behind her hands as you give your answer. "Then I look forward to our educational experiences together," she says, "And it also makes reworking the rest of your schedule easier as we'll only have to block off one day and move around whatever other classes are on it so... let's get that done."

The next ten minutes or so is spent deciding which day will be Void Day (as you have already begun to think of it to yourself) and you are oddly pleased to discover that your Mondays are light enough that the classes originally there can be moved to other days without too much disruption. This is especially true since you can drop the two open classes originally meant to be for the introduction to your Elemental Affinities back when it was thought you would have the standard two. When the two of you are finished, the nurse clears her throat and looks at Aspecta expectantly. "Ah yes," Aspecta says, indicating the nurse with a wave of her right hand, "This is Doctor Susan Harker. She was originally here for other reasons but upon hearing about your score, she approached me about making a request of you and I see no reason she should not be allowed to ask. Though you are free to say no if you find yourself uncomfortable with her proposal."

Doctor? Then why is she dressed as a nurse? You do not ask this aloud but the question does run through your mind repeatedly as Susan says, "Hello, sweetie. As Iris-- excuse me, Professor Aspecta, said, my name is Doctor Susan Harker. I'm a healer by trade but I have also been publishing papers about the nature of those who have greater innate talent for magic verses those who do not. Most believe that it is a purely genetic factor, hence why the greatest potential tends to travel through specific family lines more than most but we're still not sure what exactly in the genes causes this, if it is even the cause at all."

You think back to how the Headmaster mentioned your family roots being tied to the most important historical families in the magic world and realize that is probably what she is talking about.

"You are a unique case however," Susan continues, "because despite whatever background you have, you are several generations removed from the magical world. Which should have meant, whatever your family line, the genetic factors that causes magical ability would have been diluted by procreation with those with no magical awareness at all. Yet instead of a lower than average magical score, which would be the expected result, you scored higher than anyone ever has. I would really like to be able to study samples of your genetic information to see if there is something else going on to explain this anomaly, so would you consent to giving me those samples?"

"Samples?" you ask, "What kind of samples would you need from me?"

"Nothing much, sweetie," Susan replies, "Just a vial or two of blood, not anything more than what you'd give for any medical exam, a small extraction of your magical aura, and don't worry, like blood that regenerates quickly enough with rest and food."

She pauses for a moment, her eyes flashing at you mischievously as her full lips flick upwards in a grin and then says, "And, of course... a sperm sample."

Your penis, which you thought would have been still spent from your earlier activities, starts twitching back to life at how Doctor Harker says that last bit of information, implying that there may be more to how she intends to collect that last specimen. Out of the corner of your eye, you see Professor Aspecta has not moved but you get the impression she may have just rolled her eyes a little.

However, another thing the Headmaster told you earlier flashes through your mind, the warning to be careful about the intentions of others. Could this doctor possibly have other intentions for your blood, aura and spooge? She seems friendly and earnest enough, and you are pretty sure the Professor would not have allowed her to ask you if she had not felt this was on the level.

Yet, in the end, it is still your decision if you trust her or not.

Do You Consent?
