Study's call

"Cash ! Cash, wake up !"

You hear Study whispering as she shakes you awake.

"What... ?" You start saying before she cover your mouth.

You open your eyes, but the room is now in pitch black darkness. You can only feel her breath on your cheek and the warms of her body alongside yours.

"There is something outside..." Whispers Study before releasing her hand from your mouth.

You try to listen, but don't hear anything else than the wind.

"I don't hear anything..." You whisper.

"Don't you hear it ? Something is moving in the grass, on the side of the house."

Study then get up in silence and after a moment whisper again from across the room.

"It's a very big dog... or a wolf, the size of a small horse."

You aren't sure, but her vocabulary seems to have lowered down. But most of all, how could she see anything in the darkest of the night ? Did her sense got way better with her fox traits ?

"A small horse or a pony ?" You ask, even if it doesn't make much difference. A wolf that size isn't supposed to exist.

"Yeah, a pony... and it have red glowing eyes..." She continues whispering.

"Come back here, if it sees you, we're fucked !" You whisper.

You feel her hand on yours, short time after.

"What is it ?" She asks.

"I think, it's a worg, it's smart and no door or window will stop it if he spots us." You explain.

"You think it can smell us ? I hear it sniffing."

Shit, you didn't think of that. You're trapped, you can't escape, and soon it'll get the scent of you... you wait, all senses in alert, ready to run, minutes turned into hours and the insufferable wait dissipated as the night turned clearer and the first light of the day came.

"I think, it's gone." Finally said Study. "I can't hear it, now."

"Are you okay ?" You finally asked. A little bit ashamed for giving in so easily to her.

"Yeah... thanks... it's uh... still hard to think in uh... big words, but the uh... horny is gone." She said, standing up and putting back her dress that was rolled up around her waist.

"I though I wasn't... your type... you know." You said, standing up too.

"You're not, but the sex was nice, and you're a good guy... and the uh... horny feeling was driving me crazy... so... thanks..." explained Study, hesitantly.

But before you say anything, she quickly change the subject. "Hey ! How's your arm ?"

As she says this, you notice that you don't feel any pain anymore. Looking at your wound under your shirt, it's completely healed up. Only a long scar is left.

"What the fuck ? I'm completely healed !" You shout.

"Seriously ?? How is it possible ?" Shout Study.

"How should I know ? How is it possible that you now have fox traits, with the enhanced senses that goes with it ?"

Study frowns and looks down, grabbing her chin. "Enhan... I'm sure I know that word." She then says.

"It means better." You tell.

"I knew it ! I fucking knew it ! Why didn't I remember that ?" She said on a frustrated tone.

You don't know what to say, but you're starving, so you took the opportunity to change the subject.

"Let's eat, I'm starving, maybe we'll feel better after eating." You tell her.

Study frown for a moment, which made you realize that she probably didn't get the word starving. But she doesn't say anything about it.

"Yeah, let's eat..." She says instead.

With that, you take the bags of food and open the cans with a can opener found in one of the drawers in the kitchen. It's cold and taste like crap, but you're too hungry to care and Study seems to be in the same mindset. No word is spoken during that moment. Until she open a chocolate bar.

"You sure about this ?" You ask.

"Why ?" She says with a puzzled look.

"Well, uh... you're kinda part fox now. Is chocolate still good for you ?"

"For fuck sake !" She yells, throwing the bar on the table. "I want to eat something good !"

"Sorry..."

You don't really know what else to say. You both are in uncharted territory.

"So, we go to Newville, then ?" Asks Study, still clearly frustrated.

"I think it's a good start to see what's there. There are walls, so maybe there are people."
