Claire ignored the comment and just moved on to serving the next person. She considered going to do the karaoke, but although she really wanted to try her hand at singing she didn’t feel brave enough to actually go over and sign up and her immediate need for cash was gone now.
The rest of the night was spent doing her job as normal and when the end of the evening came, she had earned a reasonable amount in tips. On the way home she tried to decide how she’d treat herself the following day while she waited for the car to be fixed.
