Step-Daughter's

Cassidy Monk could not wait until college. Her mother had died in child birth, and her dad remarried when Cassidey was 12. She never got along with her step-mother Rita, but soldiered on. Tragedy struck again when her dad was killed by a drunk driver when Cassidy was 16. A year later Rita married Matt. Cassidy and Matt got along, but Rita treated Cassidy like a tenant.

Cassidy turned 18 and graduated from high school. She was off to college after summer, but it seemed like an eternity.

One day Rita sat Cassidy down and explained to her the money her biological dad had set aside for college would be doled out by her, and she was not happy Cassidy was planning to major in education as that was not "a very lucrative career," and it seemed "like a waste of money."

"But it was left in our joint account, so think about it."

Cassidy was fuming. She went to her room and logged onto the internet on her laptop. A pop up window appeared.
