Stay

It's clear to you that Barbara isn't going to leave the job unfinished, so you agree to stick around. "Fine, we'll stay. Here. Help me tie these guys up." You find a bunch of extra zip ties in the pocket of the guy that tied you to the chair and bind the guards' hands and feet. Moen is still passed out on the floor. She groans as you pick her up, but doesn't wake all the way up as you tie her wrists and ankles to the chair that was previously occupied by your partner.

Meanwhile, Barbara has gone behind the desk to the computer. She pulls out a small thumb drive that was hidden somewhere in her hair bun. "Now that I have time to search, let's see what we can find," she says as she plugs in the drive and starts busily typing on the keyboard.

"Ugh..." Moen starts to come around. "Knew I shouldn't have given you idiots weapons..." Her eyes flutter open and she tries to lift her hand to brush the hair out of her eyes. The zip tie holds her though and she jolts fully awake, trying to jostle her limbs free. "The hell?!" She starts looking around and her eyes settle on the intruder sitting at her computer. "Hey! Stop that!"

Barbara stops what she's doing for a moment before shaking her head as if to clear out the cobwebs. "Can you shut her up for a minute?" she asks you.

"No! Wait!" Moen looks to you frantically as you remove the necktie from one of the fallen guards to use as a makeshift gag. "Whatever she's paying you, I'll double-no, triple it! Just let me go!"

"Really?" You play along for a moment. "Care to make a counter-offer?" you ask Barbara.

She rolls her eyes at you. "Just gag her already."

"Well, you heard the boss lady."

"Please! I cammpff!" You wrap the necktie across her mouth and loop it around a couple times for good measure.

"Much better," Barbara says as she continues to tap away on the keyboard. "Just a second...and...there. That should do it." She looks at you. "This might sting your ears a little." She clicks on something and the now-familiar static sound invades your ears again. And in a few seconds it fades away.

"What did you do?" you ask.

"I found her little audio program and made a couple adjustments."

"Nuuuh!" Moen thrashes her head and tries to break out with no success.

"Now let's see if we can hack into the financials and get the evidence we were looking for in the first place." She goes back to work. After a couple minutes, she suddenly slams her hand down on the desk. "Damn! She's got so many layers of encryption on this thing it's going to take me a week to get through without the password. Un-gag her."

"Are you sure that's a good idea?"

"It's fine. I adjusted the subliminals to erase her programming. It's been running long enough that it should be clear now. And I reversed things, so she should be a little more helpful now." You go ahead and remove the necktie from Moen's mouth.

"I have plenty of money for both of you," Moen starts spouting, her mouth now free. "Just let me go and we can all go our separate ways and you can make a lot of easy money."

"How about you give us the password first?" Barbara demands.

"It's 'G-zero-F-U-R-S-3-L-F' with an exclamation point at the end," Moen chuckles and smirks. "Did you really think subliminals would work on me?"

"Well then it looks like we're going to do this the old fashioned way." Barbara comes around the desk, fists balled, ready to beat the answer out of her captive.

"Whoa whoa. Hold up there." You intervene. "There has to be a better way than beating her to a pulp."

"Yeah listen to your muscle! He's a smart guy," Moen encourages.

Barbara sighs, "Fine, what do you suggest?"
