Chapter 16 by brambank brambank

Should Leanne wear the dress?

Stay with what she has

She might have been topless but she felt like Gary was deliberately taking advantage of her situation so he could perv on her again. Leanne angrily tossed the garment onto the nearby sofa and folded her arms tightly around her naked chest. “Isn’t there anything else?” she asked. “Or at least a pair of socks or tights or something to go with it?”

“Huh?” Gary span round to face Leanne and stared wide-eyed at the half naked hot girl. He clearly enjoyed the view despite not being able to see too much and it took a few moments before he answered. “Erm, there might be some. Have a look over there. That’s where I got the dress from.”

He gestured towards the back of the room and Leanne headed to where he pointed. Finding her way through the assortment of boxes she located an area with piles of various clothes, some for the employees of Rosefield Manor but unfortunately all too big for her. There were other costumes too but either they wouldn’t fit her or were just as inappropriate as the dress she’d rejected. She was still rummaging around when she saw something that made her freeze.

“Gary!” she yelled. There was no response. “Gary!” Leanne called out again with more urgency in her voice. This time the chubby worker appeared, a grin spread across his chubby face as he saw her naked chest again.

“What is it?” he asked. “Do you need help with something?”

“Wha… What’s that?” Leanne jabbed a finger towards a closet across the room. Her finger shaking as she pointed.

“The clown costume?” he replied. “Dunno. Must be Dan’s.”

“Dan’s?!” she repeated in disbelief.

“Yeah, I think so. I’m sure I saw him in it last year. Why?” Leanne stood silently, her eyes not moving from the creepy clown costume hanging in the closet. She recognised the mask instantly. That horrifying, sinister painted mask. She couldn’t believe it belonged to the guy she fancied so much. But he’d been with her when she saw the clown, hadn’t he?

She frantically tried to think back, replaying everything that had happened. Her mind was all over the place and it was difficult to create a coherent structure to the afternoon. She had no idea what was real anymore and everything she remembered could have been warped by her imagination. Suddenly she didn’t know who she could trust and began to feel trapped, her desire to leave that place growing once more.

Leanne turned to see Gary smiling at her. His eyes began to drift lower as he openly checked her out. She didn’t feel any safer with him but at least she was sure nothing would happen while he was around. It wasn’t like she could leave looking like this. She turned back to the costume hanging menacingly in the corner as though it was mocking her. If Dan really was the clown she had to keep away from him. Then again if she just asked he’d probably tell her the truth. But could she really trust him? Why did everything have to be so complicated?

What should Leanne do?
