Stay silent and continue

Jessica steeled herself. Gather information first.
She surveyed the room. Her aunt's blood treatment injector was on the table. She smiled absently to herself to see her aunt, despite her protestations, was following the church doctor's recommendation. The smile fell quickly as she saw the trail of blood lead to her Aunt's door, which was closed.
Jessica thought to herself. Perhaps... her aunt hadn't locked the door, waiting for her, and when she took her medicine... and a beast smelled it and attacked her? Which would mean... Jessica stared pensively at her aunt's door.
Horrific curiosity wormed its way into her mind. She had to know. Slowly she stepped. Using her knowledge of this old house her aunt had put her up in the last 3 years to avoid the creeky floorboard there, and step on the carpet to muffle her steps.
With the faintest of brushes, Jessica tapped open the door, and lining up a single eye through the crack. Jessica thought her heart would stop. Through the faint light of light of the room, she could see a large beast, all long limbs, fur, and teeth, gnawing on a prone bloody body.

After a few numb moments, her mind caught up with her what her eyes had already seen. Judging by the her robes and size... Jessica felt tears begin to swell in her eye.
