Stay Behind

You reached up, giving your head a short scratch while thinking things over. Glenn had a big point, bringing too many people to the city was just ringing the dinner bell. Seeing that there was already a group of six going, you decided you shouldn't tip the scales. "You know, I think I'll stay here." You replied to Shane,

Glenn immediately let out a sigh of relief, "Thank god." He muttered out,

"Won't lie, think that's the smart choice." Shane said while a nod, "Not happy that all y'all are going in the first place, so the fewer people going the better."

"Yeah, Y'all stay back here nice and warm, while we do all the heavy lifting." Merle snorted out causing Shane to roll his jaw,

"Look, how about you just keep your mouth shut, huh?" Shane shot back to him,

"Listen here, you pig. I ain't gonna-" Merle immediately replied with only for Glenn to jump up,

"We, uh, we should really get moving. That way we'll be back before dark." Glenn quickly stammered out,

"Yeah, I can totally get behind that." T-Dog agreed, "Since we on foot and all."

"E-Exactly," Glenn said while moving away from the pit, "Let's just...I'm gonna grab my bag."

You watched as Glenn quickly left the area, and moments later T-dog, Morales, Jacqui, Andrea, and Merle were all making their way down the trail towards the city. "I'll admit it, I'm glad that's over with," Amy said while watching them disappear past the trees. "I mean I hope they'll all be okay but less time with Merle around the better."

"Hard to argue with that," Lori muttered in agreement,

"Right, well enough chatting about that. Just cause they're gone doesn't mean we just get to sit around. Gotta bring some water up from the lake, chop firewood, maybe even gather up some food from wherever we can."
