Damn. Lost Fire Eater. On the other hand, you seemed to have gotten a considerable buff: you were resistant to practically everything and your attacks had gotten stronger. You were also overjoyed to hear that the Hell Gate wouldn't suck you back to hell when some hero or god got around to dealing with it. The scorpion-thing makes another sweep by you, neatly vacuuming up debris. Feel bad for the rest of these poor sods, they're gonna fight like hell to keep this gate open. At the prospect of many heroic deaths you feel a little better and you slowly struggle to your feet. It was more the pain than anything else that slowed you down, gravity seemed... weaker. Or maybe you felt stronger.

A movement to your immediate right catches your eye. In the shadow of the toppled trunk of a mighty oak tree is a small space. It must have been relatively shielded from the blast as you can see small tufts of grass poking out. A crumpled figure moans and crawls out, scrabbling for purchase on the dusty earth.
