Chapter 660 by Fiftyfiftyfifty Fiftyfiftyfifty

What do you do?

Start the quest.

You meet beneath the castle wall gateway. Taiga is the first to arrive, dressed like a bee as always, and is armed with her spear, with the only defense seeming to be from her gauntlets and boots. That seems to be the way of armour in this world though. Dark blue hair blows to the side as wind picks up across the mountainside. Her stare is piercing. It's like she's judging every movement you make.

She thrusts the tip of her spear in your direction as you make your approach. "Steel yourself, Lord Warren. This is the first time I'll truly see what you're capable of, so you best be ready. I don't want to serve under a weak Demon King."

"I'm not a Demon King, and I did slay the one you were serving before, so doesn't that automatically make me stronger?"

"Sadly I missed that confrontation, so you'll have to do it again."

Yin and Snow walk over together. There's a small map unfurled in the cat's hands, and they're both looking it over as they go.

"You're late, Yin," Taiga states.

"I am?" Yin gasps. "I'm so sorry, Master. I didn't--"

"You're not. We didn't even set a time," you interject.

Snow furls her brow. "Settle down, Taiga. We're all loyal here, and we do our best. But Yin has only ever been a maid. Go easy on her."

"Do you think the enemies will go easy on her?" asks Taiga.

"If you're hit by another one of my magic arrows, you might loosen up a little bit."

"Don't you dare!"

You start to walk past the walls ahead of the rest. "Well, this place isn't going to explore itself. Come on, guys. No use in arguing among each other all morning. It'll take a good portion of the day to get here, so we better hurry up. I'd rather find the area before the sun goes down."

With the girls done bickering for now, you venture away from Castle Phoenix and follow Snow's lead towards the supposed dungeon. It could be nothing, but there's also the chance it's a long-abandoned ruin filled with wondrous treasures. There's only one way to find out. The four of you push onwards through the mountainous, forest-covered terrain. If you could fly, it'd probably only be a couple hours away, and it's not surprising nobody's found this place in who-knows-how-long. Sa'dis probably didn't care for exploring, and it's so far from civilization, hidden between the rocks and foliage of the Pecho Peaks.

The sun is still in the sky when your group nears the destination, though it's beginning to dip behind the mountain tops. Thankfully Snow seems to be on the hunt. It's a completely miracle Koblix stumbled upon it at all, because you don't see a thing yet.

Finally, Snow calls out, and everybody hurries over. She brushes away the bushes to reveal an unnatural stone blocking the entrance to a cave. It looks heavy, but you don't think it fell here coincidentally either.
