"Well, we know Grink wasn't the brightest guy. No offense, Lily." The girl smiled. "None taken." Jen pulled out her phone and started scrolling. "Let's have Lily try out some of the most common PINs. There's a good chance the dumbass just used 1234 or 4321 or something." She handed Lily both phones.

"Lily, honey, could you try to unlock Grink's phone with each of these PINs?"

Lily accepted the phones with a grin. "Of course! You know I can't say no to you. Or anybody."

"It's weirding me out how she's so self-aware about not having a self." Mark said.

"It would be weirding me out too, but I can't really get weirded out anymore. Oh well!" Lily replied.

"Yeah, stuff like that. Just keep punching in numbers, Lily. Anyway, what's our plan once we're in?"

Jen stepped closer to him. "Well, we took care of the most immediate problem. I think for now we should take a breather and-" She ran her hand along his inner thigh, "-reward ourselves."

Mark chuckled nervously. "Yeah, that seems like a good idea. After all, we are each other's ideal partners. Plus I just blew Grink an hour ago, so I think I'm entitled to some fun sex now." She grabbed him by the neck and pulled him in for a passionate kiss. After she broke away, she grinned. "Fun enough for you?"

Jen looked around and sniffed. "Actually, it's pretty gross in here. Should we take take this party on the road?" She nudged a pizza box with her toe.

Mark looked over at Lily. "Yeah, old Grink didn't seem to prioritize hygiene." The young woman didn't respond. "Hey Lily, any luck with the phone?"

Lily looked up from her task. "Yeah, it was the first number I tried. 1234, just like you said."

Jen sighed. "Of course you didn't tell us. We didn't tell you to." She turned to Mark. "Any ideas on how to make her less of a dipshit?"

Mark thought about it. "In a lot of ways, she's smarter than Grink was. She just lacks creativity. There's got to be a way to make her more useful." He realized she was still tapping away at the phone. "Lily, you can stop now. See, she's great at following directions." He walked over to her, where she was expectantly watching him. "Lily, why did you keep trying numbers after you found the correct PIN?"

She shrugged. "I guess because you didn't tell me too. That's gonna get old fast, huh?"

"So you knew we wanted you to stop and tell us when you found it? Why didn't you?"

"I don't know, it just didn't occur to me. I can't come up with new ideas or thoughts. Now that you mention it, I figure you probably did want me to stop and let you know. The thing is, though, I couldn't come up with that idea on my own. Even now I'm just describing my thought process to you. I'm putting two and two together based on what you're asking me but I can't really think of anything independent of that."

Jen interjected. "So what can we do to make you a little more proactive in the future?"

Lily rolled her eyes. "Did you seriously just ask me for ideas? You know that's like the one thing I can't do, right?"

"Can you, uh, act like you have original thoughts?"

Lily considered that. "I don't think so. Everything I'm doing is emulating how a friend of yours would behave, right down to the sarcasm and frustration. But at the end of the day, with my desire and creativity turned off, I'm purely reactive. If you stop interacting with me I'll stop doing anything. I might respond if you make eye contact or react if you throw something at me, but if you were to leave the room I'd sit here till I eventually pass out and die. So no, I can't act like I have original thoughts."

This was equal parts arousing and frustrating to Mark. He realized something and turned to Jen. "This is turning you on, isn't it? This sort of thing would never have turned me on before but I think your reaction is imprinting onto me. It makes sense - your ideal partner would share your kinks."

Jen blushed. "Yeah, I suppose so. I guess the idea of her being in this pliant but reactive state raises a lot of possibilities for me. I think it's time to go somewhere where we can discuss this without steeping in Grink's filth."

"Good idea!" Lily chimed in. "Must be nice, being able to have those."
