Squirrel

You take a look at the companion options. Most of them are designed for combat. For an adventurer whose life is basically a series of fights, it makes sense to get a wolf, they can call the pack when outside.You though? You expect most of your time to be spent alone in this room. improvements are your top priority, and for that, you need materials.

"Really? You saw how shit the squirrel is." Nat groans.

"I don't plan to fight with it. Materials let me change the room. Make life easier and comfortable. Better bed, maybe build an addition eventually, construct traps so I don't actually have to fight the occasional adventurer who come through for whatever it is that draws you people to places like this."

Nat shrugs, "Guess it worked okay, nobody likes waiting for the rogue to mark all the traps. Devs will probably nix that though."

You chuckle, "Dev came through when I took over as boss. I basically have free reign."

"Cool, so you can make things? Like armor?"

"I made mine"

"Think you could see what you can make with their stuff and the junk from the dungeon?"

You hear a growl from the pit, "Fuck you, you're totally getting a bad review."

"I'm the only one who didn't fall into the pit trap." Nat turns back to you, "You see what I have to put up with in a party?

"Why would I?"

"You said you were stuck in this room right? I'm not. I could get things; well, I could bring back the loot I get anyway. If your gear's better than the shops, I'd certainly come back, and there would definitely be left over materials for you."
