Cynthia a VP at Mega Corp has made a bad investment in a house project with her personal wealth, leaving her badly in debt. When her mother in law calls out of the blue to try and make peace before her mind goes she laments about not having a granddaughter. Cynthia forms a plan to rope her misbehaving child into posing as her daughter in order to scam the rich old woman out of some of her money. She was able to convince her son Greg to go along with the plan, but there is one large problem. His best friend Marcus finds out, and after being the fall guy for more than one of Greg's pranks, forms a plan of his own.
