Chapter 6

What's next?
Space Wolf vs Hydra.
As soon as this call echoed through the huge hangar areas, the attackers opened the gunfire. With well-aimed salvos they targeted everything that moved. The loading servitors, which had just been refueling a Thunderhawk, fell prey to the firestorm in the beginning. But the troops moving out of the small, elegant ship towards the hangar were not satisfied with shooting at such targets. The troops were well armed and well trained. The leaders of the attackers quickly spotted the Imperial Guardsmen, who took cover behind barrels and other equipment. From there they opened fire with their laser rifles. Some of them ran to the heavy guns that were in the hangar to protect the landing zone. But they were mowed down before they reached the positions. However, it was not long before the heavy weapon servos activated the plasma guns. According to their simple way of thinking, they did not classify the invading ship as friendly and therefore automatically as enemy. However, one of the enemy leaders recognized how a huge gun was activated and positioned almost 20 meters above them. At the top of the gun, blue accumulators pulsed up, heating the air strongly.
"HEAVY WEAPONS! UP THERE!" shouted the Hydra Agent and five soldiers with rocket launchers aimed at the target, which was destroyed in a massive explosion.
Even though the Imperial Soldiers were extremely brave and sacrificed their lives, they could not repel the attack. Within minutes Hydra had taken control of the hangar deck and slaughtered the last survivors. Only then did the A.I.M. agents leave the shuttle to examine the technology.
"What is that?" asked one of the Hydra agents and pointed to the ship that was in the hangar. The ship was almost four times the size of their own ship, which was transporting 100 soldiers. The A.I.M. technician standing beside him looked at the ship. Under the wings were rockets and gun barrels, but the most impressive thing about this ship was the huge gun on the roof. This was almost as big as the whole aircraft itself.
"I don't know. Looks like a brick with wings. On top of that, the thing looks ancient and patched up. I don't know if this technology is even superior to ours. We'll take it anyway! Wait. Drone nine? What is it? Anything interesting? On my way! Excuse me!" said the scientist and ran off.
Lift
"What do you mean we've lost contact with Hangar 9," Kolar asked and raised his hand as a sign for the others to join in.
"We received damage reports from Hangar 9 and warnings that the intruders had opened fire. Colonel Hugo reported a battle cry from the attackers. Hail Hydra!"
"Hydra? Brothers! We have been infiltrated by the traitors! We will throw them off!"
Suddenly the Vox crackled, and a deep dark voice began to speak.
"Hangar 9 is mine!"
"Listen, your miserable mutt! We'll be there in 15 minutes! Wait for us!" hissed the Dark Angel furiously, but the Vox was already deactivated again. "What's wrong with him now?"
"The Cybot is stored in hangar 9," Kolar finally dawned and sighed. "The sons of Russ have always been... wild, but when it comes to their relics..."
"You mean the thing that was given to us in the Name of Lognar Grimnar personally? How do they call it? Murderfang?" asked the Blood Angel.
"Yes. Something like that."
"What do we do now?"
"We'll clean up the mess he'll make!" hissed the Dark Angel and activated the plasma cannon. "And if we're lucky, we'll wipe him off the floor."
"What do you think of that?" the A.I.M. scientist asked his superior as the two stood in front of the humanoid war machine, which was about 5 meters tall. The metal had a light blue color that was almost a little grayish. Both arms ended in long claws that looked like they were made of ice. On the shoulders were skins of a huge wolf. There was no wolf in the whole world that could even grow that big. The small stubby legs looked strangely tiny compared to the massive torso.
"I don't know. Looks like Hulk Buster armor, except it's much more primitive. It must be old. These dents and grooves look like battle damage. But why they haven't replaced these damaged panels with new ones I don't know. Maybe it's the iconography. But what puzzles me most are these chains. This machine looks like it's been chained to the wall. Why?"
"Shall we unchain him and bag him?"
"Of course. Maybe we can find something useful after all. Weld these chains on."
While his team was exploring the secrets of the ship, the leader of the raiding party from Hydra came to him.
"Something here is wrong. Everything here seems... primitive?" the lieutenant asked and the A.I.M. scientist nodded thoughtfully.
"Yes and no. The technology itself is very highly developed. Take this... cyborg being, for example. "It's been modified in a highly developed way. It appears to have been some sort of weapons platform combined with a human mind. The technology on this aircraft is also highly complex. Fusion generators, high energy pulse laser weapons and some sort of super mass cannon."
"Super mass gun?" asked the lieutenant and raised an eyebrow.
"I don't know how else to describe it. Starting from the gun barrel, it fires a projectile 5 feet in diameter."
"And yet these things look so run-down."
"That's right, though. It seems the equipment has a biblical age and has been maintained. I would suggest we take this plane and this Robot with us first."
"Our mission is to take the ship!"
"Hydra may want to take this ship for all I care, but A.I.M. is not that stupid. We are far too few to capture a ship of this size."
"Sir!" the plasma cutters can't get through these chains. It's gonna take a little while!"
Suddenly, an ozone smell was in the air when some energy flashes manifested at a place not far from the gate. It took only a few seconds until a warrior of almost 3m height stood there. The armor he was wearing was jet black and the shoulders were painted with red and yellow spikes. Still flashes of lightning twitched over his armor as he grabbed the hammer in his right hand tighter. The servos could be heard clearly, which increased his power many times over. The helmet, which represented the shape of a wolf, looked around slowly.
Suddenly one of the Hydra soldiers flinched and fired his rifle. The cartridge bounced off the heavy armor without any effect and acted as a starting signal. With an animal-like scream, the Space Wolf reared up and roared a challenge in Fenrisian. Of course, nobody here could do anything with it ... except one.
With an ear-splitting scream, the war machine came to life. A loud hiss from the back of the war machine indicated that the machine's power cell was being powered up. Wildly pulling the machine by its shackles, it reared up screaming, but the chains withstood the Cybots fury.
"FIRE!" yelled one of the soldiers who immediately opened fire on the teleported warrior.
Only seconds later the soldiers closest to the Space Wolf opened fire. Weapons that had easily mowed down Imperial Guards and Servitors were no match for the Fenris armor. Seemingly unimpressed, the mighty warrior was standing there, looking at his enemies as they emptied their magazines. No sooner had they emptied their weapons than the warrior growled something in an incomprehensible language before he raised his left arm. In it he carried a huge shield, which had a wolf skull in the center. However, this shield was attached to his forearm, while on his upper arm a double-barreled weapon was visible.
It was exactly this weapon that started to fill the hangar halls with an ear-splitting thunder. Using a sophisticated ammunition supply, the weapon shot inexorably and effortlessly penetrated the enemy's hardened Kevlar armor. Each projectile exploded on impact, shredding the Hydra and A.I.M. agents with ease. They tried to take cover in panic, but only very few of them got that far. No sooner had the weapon been emptied than over 100 men lay dead on the ground. Only a few had the misfortune not to be killed immediately and cried out for help. Some of the soldiers, however, were veterans and made use of their tactical abilities. As soon as they had taken cover, they ordered the rocket launchers into positions from which they could easily attack the enemy. The latter now had a heavy sledgehammer in his left hand which seemed to be under power. Slowly and inexorably he now stomped towards the positions of the enemy.
Then 5 anti-tank missiles chased their smoking stripes behind them and had captured the signature of the enemy. The enemy raised the shield to protect him from the missiles just before the missiles hit the enemy and exploded. For a short time, nothing could be seen, because the smoke and fire covered everything. Then the energy hammer flew out of the cloud of smoke and crashed against one of the two shuttles. Despite the hardened armor of the ship, the hammer penetrated it effortlessly and triggered a huge secondary explosion. Most of the soldiers were swallowed by a fireball, while others were shredded by shrapnel and debris.
One of the A.I.M. scientists jumped back in fright only to feel an icy stick in his stomach. He looked at the icy claw sticking out of his chest in bewilderment and his body immediately began to freeze. Totally confused he felt in shock as his body was lifted and he was impaled by one of the claws of the Cybot. From two large loudspeakers on the shoulders of the Cybot a cheering cry and something that sounded like
Fenris.
"We have to get out of here! We don't have the right weapons for this," one of the soldiers shouted and the others nodded eagerly.
"Get that alien plane! It looks better armored than ours! "GO! FALL BACK!"
Under terrible losses three men made it aboard the Thunderbird on which the A.I.M. troops were already busy. They had quickly decoded the technology and strangely enough found many similarities with Earth technology. So, it was easy for them to operate the ship, but they panicked a little when they saw the huge warrior stomping on them.
"What is that? Since when does Thor wear Warmachine armor?! Has Stark gone completely crazy?!" one of them shouted and pointed to a console. "That one seems to be the main cannon. They call it the macro-gun! We're moving the plane into position. Fire when ready.
Immediately one of the last Hydra soldiers ran to the console and looked at the controls. It was quite simply knitted and therefore an easy one for him. As soon as the plane had turned in the air and the gun were aimed he pressed the fire button. Even this huge ship trembled menacingly when the shot was fired. An explosion like they had never seen before distorted the Space Wolf and gave them the time they needed. With roaring engines, the plane accelerated and left the ship.
"What was the explosion?" Kolar asked when they felt the shock. He immediately activated his Vox device when the signal of the space wolf began to change color. The armor display had dropped to a minimum. "Report! What is it?"
It took a few seconds until the voice of the Space Wolf could be heard. He sounded exhausted and angry.
"Enemy neutralized. These traitors are not members of the Traitor Legions! They are humans. Perhaps they are in league with the Eldar. Their ships look heretical! They escaped in the Thunderhawk Burning Fist!"
Before he could answer to this unspeakable heresy the admiral intervened.
"I will not tolerate this outrage. "The traitors will be punished in the name of the Emperor. No one will enter the holy ground of Terra without my permission!"
Thunderhawk Burning Fist.
"This ship is incredible! We're flying Mach 15 and the frictional heat doesn't seem to be affecting the hull," laughed one of the pilots contentedly as some red lights came on. "what is this light? It looks like a warning!"
"Hold on. I'll look at this." Said the chief scientist and tried to make sense of some of the characters before he turned pale. "EVASIVE ACTION! FAST!"
But by then it was already too late. Far above them the Imperial battleship had changed its position to bring its broadside batteries into position. In the silence of the darkness, no sound was heard as the massive battleship fired a full broadside. The pilot, unfamiliar with the Thunderhawk, tried everything to avoid the devastating barrage. Many of the projectiles shot past the heavy plane towards the planet surface. Then several warning lights lit up. All the occupants stared spellbound at the display, which flashed faster and faster. but beside of the massive broadside guns also 17 missle-like projektiles launched towards the planet. Each of them the size of a skyscratcher.
"Hail Hydra!" said one of the soldiers before the ship was hit by a shell. Even the Adamantium alloy of the Thunderhawk was not strong enough to withstand such a hit. The ship's fusion reactors were destroyed by the explosion, triggering further explosions in the magazines. Even though the ship had only a few macro projectiles, one of them was enough to rip the Thunderhawk to pieces.
The people in Africa looked anxiously to the sky where several fireballs came to the earth's surface. They looked like meteors and yet they were not. Over 50 of these fireballs flew inexorably towards the continent.
